Testing Unusual Samples
If a tested party is not available for DNA paternity testing, it may be possible to use a biological sample left behind by that person. A viability test is first performed on the sample to determine whether there is enough DNA that can be used for the paternity test.
What Samples Can Be Used?
Our laboratory can conduct a viability test on a range of biological samples, such as frozen blood, hair or other tissue samples. Before scheduling a viability test, we need the following information to determine the chances of obtaining enough useful DNA from the sample:
- Size or amount of available sample
- Age of the sample
- Conditions in which the sample was stored
Please call us at 1-877-444-7362 for a free consultation to answer your questions concerning the viability test.
